New Art Supplies and Nature Center Outings.

So I'm still not completely finished with my Prado project, I've kinda been putting it off for some reason. I think its because I'm to the point where its almost finished and it can either look really good or just average. I always get a little nervous in that stage of projects. In other art news I went art supplies shopping. And what originally started out as just getting a 9b pencil and sketch pad ended up becoming half my pay check. I bought some India ink (which I'm new to, but very excited to try.) ,wet media pad in addition to the other sketch pad, new paint brushes, and a plastic container to keep all my pastels and pencils in. So I better get to work on some new sketches. Right now I'm craving to work with color for some odd reason maybe its from working with all the gray of my pencil drawing, who knows. All I know is that I need color! :)

So I'm thinking I want to do something very colorful and wild for the Mt St. Joe art show that's coming up. I participated in this show last year with some of my multi media work, but this year I'm defiantly thinking painting or pastels. I'm not sure which yet. I had been considering not doing this show again because after attending the show I knew there was no possibility in me attending their college. That sounds really harsh, but I know there was no way I could enjoy my education there, for one I'm not catholic (not that it really matters I'm not saying I have anything against that) I just saw how much the catholic religion seeped into there classes and such. And being quite honest there art department isn't top rate.
And after taking the classes at the art academy this summer I KNOW that's where I want to go to college. I was pretty sure anyway but those classes put me head over heels with AAC. So I guess I see doing this as just another way to get me more out there and for new people to see my work. Which is one of the most important things having your work out there to see. So I'll keep you updated on my piece for that show.

On a completely different note, Our Cincinnati Nature Center had there annual Preparing for Night get together. Me and my mom went together and it was a really good time, on the downside it rained (but I personally am a big fan of the rain).

They were supposed to have telescopes set up in the fields to star gaze (our main reason for going) but they didn't even set up seeing as it was so overcast and rainy. So that was a bit of a bummer.
I leave you with a picture of this little creeper :). I hate Squirrels.
