Free at last!

I am officially out of school for the summer and plan on enjoying every moment of it, that is until Ifind a job. I managed to put it offf last summer but I cant wait any longer now that I have my liscence. This weekend I dont have much planned maybe spending some time with Brooke and babysitting Buba sunday morning for some extra cash.

I had finished almost all my exams Tuesday except for my artII exam so I didnt come back till Friday. I turned in the other studio portion of my artIII exam and my art teacher suprisignly said I just didnt have to do my exam plain and simple. So I had to try and find a ride since i wasnt supposed to get picked up till ten. My mum picked me up and we got some breakfest and had a nice breakfast at the picnic tables at the nature center. We than took a nice walk and I took some really nice photos.
Thats all for now tootles

A Sunny Four Day Weekend

I didnt do that much this weekend but I did go on my visit to AAC on Friday and it was as amazing as I knew it would be. The variety of things you can study is truely amazing and something you cant find any where else in cincinnati. I met one of the art history professors who invited me to sit in on one of his classes next fall, and I think I will take him up on his offer.

My friend Brooke spent the night Friday and we managed to begin five movies and only make it through two! 27 dresses (her choice) and The Holiday Inn (my choice). And today we want and saw Indiana Jones I had never seen one till now and I really enjoyed it till the end and the it became one of the stupidest movies I had ever seen, and I will leave that subject on that unhappy note.

In actual knitting news, I started another project an actual sweater ( I have no picture right now but I may take some tomorrow) Im knitting a some what over sized button up sweater that'll be nice to wear with dresses and skirts when im feeling lazy. Im using some of the white baby yarn I had left from my last disaster of a knitting project. I WILL make it through this sweater! Even if its the last thing I do ! Sorry to be so over dramatic.

Next week is my last week of school! Which also means I have exams all week but im okay with that, so long as im out of there afterwards!

Thats about it for now, I have a holiday planned on Monday. Im grilling out with my family, and sisters boyfriend, We will be opening the pool but I doubt it'll be warm enough to stick a toe in .

Enjoy your holiday weekend!!

A boring week and the discovery of good movie

Sorry I haven't done much posting we had a long rainy bore of a week. nothing important has really happened. but in coming attractions Friday i don't have to go to school and instead I'm going on a college visit to AAC, for a tour. no i mean a real tour this time the last time i was their it didn't go the greatest. so that gives me something to look forward to. this week seniors have exams and next week i have mine, and I'm not really worried. my algebra grade is all caught up to a 80% C which i am completely happy with.

in other new i have discovered a new movie that i love! masterpiece theatre did a new verson of "a room with a view". i had never seen the one filmed in the 90s but i really enjoyed this one. it was a bit slow getting into it. but its safe to say i love it and that I'm in love with the characters! so I'm off to watch it once again. i will post later this week with some new art work possibly.

A Rainy Week and Teaching A Friend to Knit

I've tried to sit down and type this blog twice in the past week, and this time (hopefully) I will accomplish it. this week has been been rainny and sleepy, im struggling to stiffle yawns as i type. School has been just as lazy, this is our seniors last full week before exams and the big week for all the choir kids so, for everyone else (the non royality) weve been left to fend for ourselves most of the week, which i am perfectly fine with. mainly because it gave me time to teahc my friend Jamie to knit, and shes quite the natural.
I took a nice trip down town tuesday the only sunny day of the week, but i think ill talk about that more in my next post.
tootles for now.

No Atonement Again

Once again I did not get to watch atonement again and I feel very dissapointed, so this weekend it is my number one priority!
I dont think I've really ranted on here about how much I adore this movie. Its quite funny I built it up so much before I got to see it because #1 it had James McAvoy in it my future husband, #2 Its set in the 1930/40s one of my favorite time periods #3 Keira Knightly is in it one of my favorite actresses.
Well I went and saw it and actually hated it when I saw it. If anyones seen the movie they may understand why I hated its extremely depressing. I love a good sad movie as much as any other girl but this one left me feeling quite hollow and that was all. So of course I was angry/upset because I built it up so much, but even than when I wasnt to happy with the film I had to admit the imagery was beautiful. And I knew I would watch it again just for that purpose.
Another thing that really bothered me about Atonement was the use of crude language. Its was horrifically embaressing to watch with my mum, when they type obscene words ( I mean OBSCENE) across the screen that fill the whole screen its not exactly a shinning moment to watch with your mum. I do understand it was taken from the novel obviously but the manner thay did it in was shall I say bold? LITERALLY. I knew it was rated R for a reason but that wasnt exactly the reason I thought it would be rated R for if you catch my drift.
Anyway after some time passed and I saw it was coming to DVD I decided I really wanted to watch it again/buy it even. And so I bought it the weekend my parents went away and me and Brooke watched it. And it was quite funny because she hated it as much as I did the first time I saw it (can I say Briony?) I suprisingly didnt hate Briony when I watched it again I actually understood her character alot more and felt more compassion for her and the blood she tried to repeatdly wash away but never could.
And now im in love with the movie completely, no if ands or buts.

A Purple Stalking Day

I think the title says it all I was in a very purple mood today, as silly as that sounds. Today went smoothly like all fridays should, and I passed it in a sleepy relaxed state of mind. I finished my project for art III early so that was a nice relief. My taste in finding good books to read has been lacking lately, but I think I've managed to finally pick out two good ones: How to Kill A Mockingbird, and To The Lighthouse by Virginia Woolfe. So far im actually in raptures for to Kill A Mockingbird I had heard so many bad things about it that it was boring and such but I've found no such thing its been quite interesting. I actually had one of the girls in my class and an interperter Amy that it was there favorite book and insisted that I read it, because I refused in the begining. As for To The Lighthouse it is a very different story, I find it DULL DULL DULL and I think the only reason Im trying to read it is because its Virginia Woolfe and I know shes supposed to be wonderful, but I just dont see it.Im going to read on more and try to finish it because I do find the storyline really nice its just her dry limp writting that causes me distress.

The Applician Feastiville was really enjoyable and it seemed everyone there that I interacted with smiled opon me and did somthing kind for me. First I got a free ticket from the man working the ticket stand. And than later I went searching for this one booth that I went to last year where they sell all kinds of knee high socks (and since im so obsessed with them) I was planning on buying some pairs. But the selection was a bit dissapointing because almost all were striped, and after never wanting to wear my other striped socks out in public I vowed to get no more stripys. So I finally decided on a nice hunter green and light egg shell green ( greens my favorite color if you cant tell). Well when I went to pay I told him I loved his socks and I bought some last year and he said since I bought some last year he would take off two dollars which I thought was quite nice. Than to make things even better I ran across a booth with Brooke where it was all knitting. The lady was extremly nice and we discussed yarn and knitting problems I have. And she was selling some adorable little lacy hats (like I've been wanting) so I had to buy one of course. You cant tell all that much about it from the picture but its actually crochet (Iwant to learn so bad) and a nice cream color, but I've kinda had second thoughts on the cream because it blends in with my hair but Brooke insisted it would match more of my clothing. The only semi bad thinkg that happened today was it was so stormy some of the booths closed early. Now I didnt mind the stormy clouds at all it made things nice and cool and I always love storms, but I didnt apprciate the booths closing early for a storm that never came. Either way it was still a wonderful day and im feeeling just peachy!

A New Painting to Brighten A Rainy Thursday

I began a new painting in my ArtII class and im obsessivily in love with working on it. The assignment was to do a reproduction on Van Gough's Irisis, and I know some people may say its completely uncreative and wrong to do a copy of Van Gough's work, but its not really about the subject matter more so learning the skills he used in the painting.

As you can see im no where near being done I just got done with the table and vase and im begining the leaves. What really made me fall in love with this project was (besides the fact that its paint) is that all the paint used is mixed with modeling paste.

Now I have never in my life worked with modeling paste in paint or any other form. So I was a bit apprehensive about it but really excited to learn more about this unexplored medium for me. So I used it and fell in love with it I think I may love it more than chalk pastels. The texture and deminsions that it gives your painting is really quite amazing. So the very same day I tried it for the first time I decided Ihad to have some to use at home. Which worked out really nicely because my art teacher was going to buy more after school so she bought me a bottle and I paid her today, and I have to say its my new favorite art supply! Im sure you can tell im pretty excited about it. As for the actual painting its going so but I've really enjoyed working on it. Im posting a more zoomed in shot but you still cant see the texture very much. ( and will someone please explain why all the pictures keep going to the top!? its drivning me crazy) Any way..

So one of the main reasons im so excited about my new modeling paste is because im starting ANOTHER painting this weekend one that I've wanted to do for quite sometime. First I should say Im skipping out on prom due to lack of friendship and more importantly a ticket. So I will have a free weekend now. And im planning on dressing in some type of old fashioned outfit ( which shouldnt be to hard for me, since everything I own is basically) and doing my hair up in a gibson girl do. Me and my mum are going to go to the nature center and take pictures, and from there im going to do a self portait painting from one of them. The reason im so excited about this is I REALLY hate doing any type of self portrait work, but this is different it gives it a new and more exciting start to it for me at least.

Well the good news is that tomorrow is friday! Thank god, this has honestly been a tough week for me with the whole prom thing and my slipping grade in Algebra and Chem. So friday comes as a sigh of relief. Tomorrow after shool im going to the applacian festival at Cony Island with Brooke, my parents, aunt, uncle, and little cousin so thats sure to be fun. It always manages to stir some creativity inside me even though im happy to say im lacking no creativity right now. The rest of the weekend will be me working on my painting. Doing some knitting on my lavender hat which has remained untouched all week. And I'd really like to watch Atonement again something I didnt manage to get around to last weekend, so I'll try and set aside some time for that and some knitting. So all and all hopefully mine and everyone elses weekend will be pleasent!
Bye Dears!

Everything and More

So in this post I am posting everything I've promised to post finally! Knitting, artwork, AlgebraII homework, and more! So the algebra isnt to exciting and I didnt exactly promise to talk about that, but hey.

So knitting wise I started my lavender hat this weekend. Its relaxing knitting and not taxing at all, which is just what I needed. The colors very nice though I know its hard to tell from these pictures. I also picked up this really pretty yarn.... ugh so the picture thing is being stupid. So thats about all knitting wise.

In other news I have my art show pictures! And of course there at the top of the freaking page again oh well you the idea thats me, Zach, and Brooke.

In the other photo its my mum, me, grandma, aunt, and little cousin. And the best picture of all Zach holding Big Mama, and yes that sounds silly but Big Mama is a bit of a legend with my friends and family.

In other news school is going horrible. Lots of algebra whic his horrible since I have no clue what on earth im doing. And prom is this coming weekend and all of my friends have managed to bail on me. So I am dateless and friendless it seems. And very very unhappy if you cant already tell. So I dont know whats going to happen any ideas? lol

I've been slacking on the bloging I know...

I know its been awhile since I lasted posted and I still dont have my art show pictures (though I did get them developed, but I need to get them scanned into my computer and im actually typing this on my sisters laptop) but as soon as there scanned in I will write a blog. In other news the end of my junior year is wrapping up, and I have to say im happy and am countting down the days till im free. I still have exams so thats stressful and I know I will say I'll study but I wont really at least not for subjects like economics/american goverment, English III, because those are given A's and I already have the highest grade in both of those classes so thats easy sailing. Chemistry, Algebra II, and my Art II and III class are differnt stories. Its not that Im actually worried I will fail my art tests because I know I wont its more so I want to have a really high grade in those classes because honestly what art school would want to accept me if I have an average grade in that class, so I will be studying how paint is made, Joseph Cornell etc. As far as Chemistry and Algebra II are concerned I better pray because I am going to seriously need all the help I can get. I dont like either of the teachers that teach those classes so that makes it a million times harder also, I plan on getting by with just enough to get a nice average grade I dont have high hopes for them. And hopefully if all goes according to plan I will score decently on all exams and end the year with the 3.4 GPA I started with, no better no worse.

Knitting. I havent gotten to do much of it lately, but there is hope for this weekend. This is the first weekend I've been completely free and will actaully be able to enjoy it (last weekend my parents went out of town and the weekend before that was the art show) WHICH WILL INCLUDE SOME KNITTING! I've been looking around on the internet for some nice springy/lace hat paterns. Hats are one of my favorite things to knit, so I thought I would enjoy it Im going out tonight to buy some Lavender Suger and Cream yarn tonight (and some supplies for my art III class tomorrow) so Im pretty excited about that but I still dont have a hat pattern to start knitting. And I still have a little ways to go on my fingerless gloves and will post some pictures.

So my weekend is going to be nice and simple. Im not going out because Brooke is in Florida so Im going to watch some movies knit work on some art and just relax. I may post tomorrow with my new yarn and (hopefully) a hat pattern. Enjoy your weekend everyone!
